Project Pay It Forward to Host Second Manhattan Event

An initiative of the nonprofit Student Body of America Association, Project Pay It Forward (PPIF) organizes a wide array of educational resources, community events, and grant opportunities to encourage public service and positive development among America’s youth. On November 23, 2014, PPIF hosted a film screening in Manhattan to further empower and inspire youth to give back to their communities. The event welcomed community representatives, educators, and nonprofit leaders and recognized several influential individuals and initiatives in the New York nonprofit sector. Additionally, it provided a platform for PPIF to award grant funding to a local high school environmental club for its urban farming project.

In November 2015, PPIF will once more bring together the Manhattan nonprofit community with the Project Pay It Forward Youth Summit, during which the program’s national network will provide insight into the variety of ways that youth can give back to their communities and celebrate the spirit of paying it forward. The PPIF Youth Summit will include exclusive film previews, educational workshops, and prominent speakers, as well as another round of grant funding for Manhattan youth who have found inspiring ways to pay it forward.
